As you may know, my cancer is back I am forced to go through hard CHEMO again as I did four years ago. I survived then and had remission until the regular scan in January caught it again. This is an update to thank my friends for their prayers and support through this difficult period.
At best, CHEMO is very bad, but I made it through the first two days with no major problems. Today and tomorrow I am taking huge 40 mg doses of steroid (decadron) I have to take ativan to control the agitation. I also have to take 300 mgs allopurinol for seven days to help dispose of the dead cancer cells. allopurinal is usually used for prevention of gout. I still have hair but I expect to lose it any minute. I am using nausea meds and hiccup meds and look forward to a very painful and nasty shot to build white cells on Monday. But, all things considered I'm OK so far
Thanks for your support and prayers. It is support from your friends and family which makes you able to get through this type of situation. Also. I would like to say that the cancer center is taking very good care of me.
